This provides a safer area for students to wait for their parents, away from the busses. School Staff: A Real Opportunity to Do Your Part Let’s get to 100% Vaccination Verification for School Staff First of all, thanks to our amazing staff members and labor groups for participating in the last spring’s push to get every employee vaccinated against COVID-19. We believe our vaccination rates are very high (hopefully 100%) but we have had no official way to verify that until now. This week, the Health Department has mandated that all school employees in Marin provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination prior to the opening of school. Fortunately, the process for doing that is simple: Give the district secretary a copy of you vaccination card. Even a photo via email or text will work. If you have misplaced your card, you can also provide a medical record or note from your healthcare provider. If there is any difficulty with that, let us know and we’ll help you. If you have not been vaccinated, please get vaccinated as soon as possible and get your card turned in. There is a second option for you as well: submit a weekly proof of a negative COVID-19 test until you are vaccinated. This option is less convenient and far less safe but is still available as of today according to health department guidance. The Delta Variant of COVID-19 has proven to be highly contagious and can even be passed on by fully vaccinated people. For unvaccinated people it has proven to be extremely dangerous and can be deadly. My hope is to let our community know that our entire staff has been vaccinated before school opens and that we have verification of that. Even though 100% vaccination is not guaranteed to protect everyone, it will help a lot and will give the whole community more confidence that our students and staff are as safe as possible. Thanks in advance for your cooperation, sense of responsibility and care for those around you. Getting that verification card in as soon as possible is one more important thing you can do to support health and safety for everyone. With Gratitude, John Carroll, Superintendent
