BOLINAS-STINSON SCHOOL CLOSURE, THURSDAY JANUARY 5, 2023

Dear Bolinas-Stinson Community,

I hope you and your family weathered the storm safely and with little damage. The Bolinas-Stinson School will be closed today, Thursday, January 5, 2023 due to extended power outages and storm debris. We are monitoring conditions closely and will be clearing both campuses of debris today. All planned activities and meetings on campus will be postponed/rescheduled. We expect to resume school tomorrow and will notify you of any updates as we receive them.

We recognize how impactful the decision to close school is to our community and make every effort to keep school open whenever possible. The health, wellness, and safety of our students and staff is paramount and necessitates closing school when we cannot provide adequate conditions. We will make up this missed school day by using one of our calendared Emergency School Closure days at the end of the school year and will send out an updated calendar soon.

A huge thank you to our local emergency workers and volunteers who help to keep our school community safe: Bolinas Fire, Stinson Beach Fire, State Park Service Rangers, Marin County Sheriff, CA Highway Patrol, and Community Service workers - We appreciate you!

If you need to go out, please do so with extreme caution, as there may be downed and low hanging electrical lines, debris, and other hazards on the road. Please stay safe and feel free to reach out to me if you need anything.

Warmly,

Michelle
