Bolinas-Stinson Union School District is seeking a long-term substitute teacher to join our small, collaborative school community. This position includes teaching 5th grade math, 5th grade English, and a part-time music/performing arts component. We are open to creative and flexible proposals for the arts portion of the position based on a candidate’s unique skills and interests to best serve students and the school community.
Position Responsibilities
● Teach one class 5th grade math and 5th grade English, aligned with California standards
● Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction
● Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
● Collaborate with colleagues and communicate effectively with students and families
● Support student learning through clear expectations, structure, and creativity
Performing Arts Component
The performing arts portion of this position is flexible. While traditional music instruction is welcome, we are also open to candidates with unique expertise in areas such as:
● Theater or drama
● Yoga or movement-based practices
● Visual arts
● Drumming or rhythm-based instruction
● Other creative or performing arts disciplines
Qualifications
● Valid California teaching credential or eligibility for long-term substitute assignment
● Experience working with elementary students preferred
● Strong classroom management and communication skills
● Flexibility, creativity, and a collaborative mindset
● Interest in working in a small, close-knit school community

Compensation $240/day for days 1-20 $300/day starting on day 21
