Dancing School

Dear Bolinas-Stinson School Families and Community,

The school year has gone by quickly and was packed with so many wonderful events and memories.  I would like to thank staff, parents, students, and community members for making my first year at the Bolinas-Stinson School an amazing experience full of learning, laughter, and building lasting connections.  I look forward to continuing our work together next year as we support our school and amazing students!

WELCOME ANNA TOSICK - OUR NEW 3RD & 4TH GRADE TEACHER!

We are excited Anna will be joining our third and fourth grade teaching team. She will be working closely with her partner teacher, Rachael Dressler. Anna’s early work as a naturalist and environmental educator in West Marin inspired her to pursue her teaching credential from Sonoma State University. Since then, she has received a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Indiana University, completed her Waldorf Certification, and served as a pioneering teacher for ten years at Kona Pacific Public Charter School on the Big Island of Hawaii. Anna is currently teaching fourth grade at Greenwood School in Mill Valley.

Anna returned to Marin County last summer so that she and her 17 year-old son could be closer to family and spend more time with her parents and extended family. When Anna is not teaching, she and her son can be found at the beach, as they are long time ocean lovers. Anna is a competitive outrigger canoe paddler and her son surfs and bodyboards.  While Anna will miss the rural community of South Kona, she believes that Bolinas-Stinson is the closest mainland match to that environment. She is excited to teach in a community that is aligned with her educational philosophy: an arts infused, place-based pedagogy that instills a deep interest and curiosity for the world. We are thrilled to have Anna as our newest addition to the Bolinas-Stinson teaching team!

CLASS CONFIGURATIONS FOR NEXT YEAR - WHO, WHAT, WHERE?

We have a fantastic line-up of teaching staff, specialists, instructional assistants, and support staff at our school for next year. The following is an overview of homeroom teacher placements and the grade level/subjects they will be teaching. This configuration is designed so that students will receive essential grade level specific, core instruction, as well as provide a multi-grade level dynamic classroom environment. BOLINAS STINSON GRADUATION DANCE, JUNE 12TH, 7:00-8:30 PM

The evening will be filled with performances by our talented middle school students as well as an open floor to anyone who wants to get their feet moving!  This fun event is a chance for all our 7th and 8th grade students to get dressed up and showcase their ballroom dancing for families and friends. What a wonderful way to celebrate the time and effort they put forth this year working with Don and his wife Cenize. It is sure to be a night to remember!

I hope you can join us as we recognize and honor our 8th grade students who will be graduating this year. We will enjoy songs from our K-6th grade students and special presentations from several of our talented eighth graders. Refreshments and lunch will be served for graduates and their families.

Warmly,
