The availability and use of cannabis, vaping, and e-cigarettes by students is growing at an alarming rate. Lack of understanding of the risks involved, persuasive marketing campaigns aimed at youth, and peer pressure have combined to create an unprecedented public health crisis for our children.
Given the prevalence, and recent alarming news about the ill effects of vaping cannabis and e-cigarettes, we are working to raise awareness of staff, students, parents and community members around this important topic. Please refer to the resources below to keep your family informed and feel free to share them with others in the community.
We will be providing a Special Free Live-stream Event! Wednesday, October 16th, 7:00-8:30 PM, Bolinas Campus Library
David and Nic Sheff will be speaking about their newest book, High: Everything You Want to Know About Drugs, Alcohol, and Addiction. Due to overwhelming interest and a sold-out venue at Angelico Hall in San Rafael, we will be live-streaming this event for our school community.
We are excited to be offering this educational opportunity to our community with Marin Healthy Youth Partnerships. NY Times bestselling father/son team of David and Nic Sheff will talk about their latest book, HIGH, which provides reliable information on drugs, alcohol, and addiction so teens and parents can make educated decisions. Please RSVP for the event and childcare using the links below. Hope to see you there!
In case you missed it – here is the link to the recording of the “Let’s Talk Cannabis and Vaping” This was a standing room only, public forum that took place on September 11, 2019 at Marin County Office of Education.
