Principal's Message, February 15, 2019

Dear Bolinas-Stinson School Families,

I hope you and your family fared well in the recent storm. To help us better prepare for future storms, please read the following information about our new emergency notification system.

EMERGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION FOR ALL FAMILIES AND STAFF

We had to implement our new school emergency notification system to alert staff and families of the school closure on Thursday, February 14th.  If you did not receive a notification on your cell phone alerting you of the school closure, please email Kara (karap@bolinas-stinson.org) or Johanna (johannas@bolinas-stinson.org). Please provide the mobile number on which you would like to receive emergency notifications.  This number will only be used in case of emergency and will not be used for any other purposes.

2019-20 CLASS CONFIGURATIONS

We have been participating in robust conversations focused on creating a sustainable class configuration model for our school. While it is important to keep student learning at the heart of these conversations, it is also critical that we look at the impact on the budget, facilities, personnel, and programs. The Board of Trustees met this week to review staff and parent input and listen to recommendations from both John Carroll and myself.

After much deliberation, the Board decided to postpone the decision until we return from break. They would like to gather more information regarding budgetary impact, staff feedback, and parent input. The Board of Trustees will be meeting on Tuesday, February 26th, at 5:00 PM in the Bolinas Campus Library, to discuss this issue further. I hope you can join us for this important meeting.

CLASS CONFIGURATION PARENT MEETING

I would like to meet with parents to discuss the 2019-20 Class Configuration Options before the upcoming special board meeting on Tuesday.  I hope you can join me, Monday morning, February 25, at 9:30 AM in the Bolinas Campus Library, to review the options and gather feedback to share with the board. I look forward to seeing you there!
