Bake Sale

Dear Bolinas-Stinson School Families and Community,

School will be closed on Monday October 28th, in spite of our best efforts to keep it open. The effects of widespread power outages, wildfires, evacuations, and compromised phone communication have combined to create an unsafe environment for both staff and students. We do not make this decision lightly and will make every effort to open the school as soon as possible.  We apologize for the inconvenience and understand the hardship that this imposes on many of our families. We will keep you posted as soon as we receive any new information and appreciate your patience. Please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns.

  • Events The public is always welcome at Tam athletic and theater events (admission fees may apply). Please consult the Calendar on the website for more information about scheduled events. Check out the Daily Bulletin (Tam Times) and online student newspaper, The Tam News for additional events and information.

  • Helpful Links Explore the Tamalpais HS Website for a wealth of information.

Parent Teacher Conferences, Monday, November 18th - Friday, November 22nd, 2:00 - 4:30 Early Dismissal time 2:00 PM Bolinas Campus (1:45 Stinson Campus). *Please note: Due to limited facilities and personnel, we are unable to provide childcare at school.  Please be sure to mark your calendars and make other arrangements for your children on these days.

Your child’s teacher will be reaching out to you soon to schedule a conference. This is a wonderful time to review your child’s progress with their teacher and share any issues or concerns you may have.

Close communication between home and school is critical to your child’s academic and social-emotional success. By keeping an open dialogue, you and your child’s teacher can share strategies to best meet your child's needs and support them at school. Some areas you may want to think about before the conference are:

  • Homework - Observe your child as they complete their homework.  Are they able to work independently? Do you have questions on how to support them?

  • Get your child’s feedback about school - How are they feeling about classwork?  Who do they play/hang out with? What is their favorite/least favorite academic activity and why? Get an overview of their daily school experience.

  • Come prepared with any questions you may have - Teachers often schedule back-to-back conferences, so it is important to maximize your time and stay focused.

Remember - It is ok to ask for a meeting any time during the school year (as needed) if any issues arise. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Warmly,

Michelle Stephens
