For serious musicians who want to focus on the band sound and feeling; an opportunity to become much more skilled on instruments and also to try new things in a smaller group, such as singing with a microphone.  This band will play at community events and one goal is to add several more songs.  Start your weekend by getting in the groove!

Designed to help develop skits for the talent show.  Students will do improvisations to develop characters and story line, write the script and create costumes, wigs, make-up and collect props, sets, etc. to give the skits the final magic touch.

Do you like hiking?  Enjoy the outdoors?  If yes, come explore science in nature while learning local ecology.  Every week a new topic is studied and students receive journals based on the subjects:  tracking local animals, birding, flowers and friends, water cycle, energy in nature, plants and trees, and more.  Bring a healthy snack and water bottle.  Wear good walking shoes and bring a sweatshirt.  Middle school students may become Junior Rangers (inquire).  Also 1st and 2nd graders may attend if they love nature and science.

This is a weekly beginning band class where kids get to be creative in a group setting.  It is also a great opportunity to be heard and make great sounds together.  As a band, we will write our own songs and play our known favorites too--a chance to play electric instruments and sing on the microphone.

In this class students will dive into the world of drama as they explore creative expression. Activities will include theater games, improvisation, role playing, and story dramatization.  They will also explore scene and character work pulling from the musical Bugsy Malone.  A 1930's gangster story, where the gangsters are kids, Bugsy Malone captures a flashy world of would-be hoodlums, showgirls, and dreamers.  Class meets January 5 & 26, February 2 & 9, and then March 29 thru the end of the year.

Inch by inch, row by row, Gonna make this garden grow!  This year, Music Tribe will begin class up in the garden behind the 4th grade classroom.  We will till the soil, water, and tend the plants to create our new school garden! Snack will be served in the garden before we venture into the Music room.

Accomplished Artist/Designer presents simple yet fascinating wool sculpting techniqes (sculpting with our hands, needle-felting, etc.) to create figurines and just about anything your imagination takes you!  We will be exploring and unfolding our creativity with making seasonal gifts/decorations story-telling and more...  All ages, parents and children welcome!
